Who we are

Pride in Exile (PIE) is a social organization run by former and current LGBTQ+ advocates, professionals, experts, and allies with a focus in ensuring equal employment opportunity and addressing discriminatory practices in employment for former and current LGBTQ+ federal employees (or those who may have been suspected to be LGBTQ+).

PIE is here to support former and current LGBTQ+ federal employees (or perceived status) in three primary ways.

Fostering community and support. As most federal agencies’ LGBTQ+ employee resource groups (ERGs) face challenges presently, PIE provides support in the continuation of these exiled ERGs, recognizing the importance of community.

Restoring information and creating access. It is critical for LGBTQ+ employees to have access to information as it relates to their workplace rights. While various federal agencies have removed such information, PIE restores this information, making it available to its members.

Providing information about legal resources. As LGBTQ+ federal employees face significant threat to their workplace rights and protections, PIE is dedicated to ensuring that members have access to information regarding resources for legal action.
